Latest obsession
I am obsessed with our baby. She is all things wonderful! I can’t get enough.
Bubbies Ice Cream
I finally made it to Bubbie’s ice cream parlor. Island famous. Well, truth is, I’ve been there before, but just for the ice cream. It’s a couple blocks from our place, so I took a lonely stroll to feed my sweet tooth (teeth).
My plan was to take a picture of the outside so you could visualize, but after getting my waffle cone of chocolate ice cream with sprinkles (rainbow, of course) and a bag of mochi, I could not. In fact, I made a mess of myself. But my belly was happy.
I got home and immediately tried the chocolate egg nog mochi ice cream. I couldn’t have been more excited! It was great! I’ve tried plain mochi before, but that was always too thick with the weirdest texture. This is perfect. A thin layer of mochi and then yummy ice cream. Bliss.
A Hawaiian December
Saturday’s adventure included picking out our Christmas tree. Since we will be staying in Hawaii for Christmas this year we wanted to get a real tree. Then the thought of cleaning up pine needles made us think again. We went to Home Depot and found a small wax ficus that fit perfectly in a pot. I guess you can call this our Charlie Brown tree. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE it!! So cute and totally reusable after Christmas is over! We are so green.

Friday Night Lights
Thanks to Olga and Kellie, my mind was focused on something other than when baby will come.
We drove out to the outlets in Waikele and perused some shops for a couple hours. Although I ditched out on the ward Christmas party, I had a fabulous time. Saks 5th Ave had some stuff and do did Godiva chocolates! Yummy truffles. We made it safely home (thankfully, as Olga is somewhat of a crazy driver) and my huge swollen feet were ready for a rest.
Every time I go out of the house I pray that my water doesn’t break. How embarrassing would that be?! But I have a feeling this baby will be baking until the end. No contractions yet. Just overall discomfort. 11-ish more days! We can’t believe it.
I hope the Christmas is coming out in everyone! I’m digging on the She & Him Christmas album right now. Honolulu is starting to decorate for the holidays. Lights are about all we can expect for a Christmas feeling here. Still in the 80s, but the random cloud cover makes for some nice “winter” gray days. As long as I don’t step outside I can make believe its cold and justify making hot chocolate.

My friend Kellie and I (yeah, she just had a baby a month ago)
A Quiet Thanksgiving
This year was a very quiet thanksgiving for us. The last big holiday before baby arrives. Before we are parents for the rest of our lives. Kind of a big deal.
Robot and I made lemon rosemary Cornish game hens, rosemary and sea salt rolls, twice baked yams with cranberries, green beans, and stuffing.
My favorite were the yams. Delish! The rolls could have turned out better, but luckily no one was there to impress. It was our first time making rolls!
So the countdown is still on. No contractions yet. Just getting bigger and bigger!
